Symbolisms of the world cup abound... but for a country to be able to host the world cup, the biggest baddest and coolest sporting event in sports entertainment you're saying a lot about your nation... not to say I have any faith in nations but it gives the country a sense of legitamcy and signifies a countris coming of age... the sad thing is that you gotta be in an elite group to be able to host it... like with all social structures the international social structure probably reflects the inherint stupidity and ignorance of man....
